Fremantle Prison is one of the 11 Australian Convict Sites. Fremantle Gaol or Fremantle Jail are other names for it. It used to be a prison in Fremantle, Western Australia, and is now a World Heritage Site. The prison cellblocks, gatehouse, perimeter walls, cottages, and tunnels are all part of the six-hectare site. Image by Amanda Slater is licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0.
