The Holsten Gate is a city gate that delineates the western limit of Lübeck’s historic core. One of the remnants of Lübeck’s medieval city defenses, the Brick Gothic building, was built in 1464. The Citadel Gate is the other surviving city gate. Image by Jorge Franganillo is licensed under CC BY 2.0.
