San Gimignano is an Italian hill town located southwest of Florence in the Tuscany region. Its ancient town is centered on Piazza Della Cisterna, a triangular plaza lined with medieval homes and surrounded by 13th-century fortifications. The stone Torre Grossa is part of a skyline of medieval towers. The Santa Fina Chapel of the Duomo di San Gimignano is a 12th-century church containing murals by Ghirlandaio.
